The ServiceMaster Clean Disinfection Protocol

Wearing appropriate PPE as determined by the most up-to-date CDC guidelines and taking your privacy into consideration when it comes to donning and doffing PPE.

Using EPA registered and approved products from the EPA's List N, which specifically meet the criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

Cleaning before disinfecting, a step that is required for true disinfection. We apply specific cleaning techniques to reduce reapplication of soil on surfaces.

Disinfecting after proper cleaning. We always apply the disinfectant following the product label protocol, including selecting the equipment to apply the product and leaving the leaving the surface wet for the required dwell time for the disinfection to be effective as specified by the EPA registered label.

Cleaning up discarded materials and single-use PPE, sealing our soiled materials for proper disposal.

ServiceMaster Clean will provide you with a certificate of service with the date and time of your last disinfection, as well as stating that we have provided antimicrobial disinfection that can last for up to 90 days.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DISINFECTING, CLEANING AND SANITIZING?

• Disinfection and sanitization actually begin with thorough cleaning. Pathogens such as viruses and bacteria thrive in dirty environments, so effective disinfection or sanitization can’t occur unless surfaces are free of dust, dirt and grime.

• Sanitizing kills up to 99.9% of germs/pathogens reducing the risk of infection.

• Disinfecting is a step above sanitizing, killing up to 99.9999% of germs/pathogens on non-porous surfaces to reduce the risk of infection even further.

HOW DOES YOUR DISINFECTION PROCESS WORK?

• Our disinfection process involves cleaning and disinfecting high touch areas in your facility.

• According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the first step in the disinfection process is cleaning the surface to remove dirt, dust and debris.

SOME OTHER COMPANIES ARE USING A FOGGING METHOD. WHY AREN’T YOU DOING THAT?

• The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) currently doesn’t recommend a fogging method. Current fogging application methods being employed by other companies are imprecise and therefore unreliable.
