As we move ever closer to what is essentially a party season, what are tips that can help make your home look great while only having party planning emergencies to do on the big day?
As soon as you decided to host a party, it is time to declutter your party areas. This will keep down how many last minute chores are needed on party day. Do not simply move clutter to another room to be forgotten there. Take the time to throw out trash, donate good items you don't plan to use, and find the correct home for everything that you want to keep but does not belong where you found it. This includes moving hats, coats, jackets, etc. from your front closet. Put your winter clothes in your closet and leave the foyer closet as a guest area to store their coats when they visit you.
In the 2 weeks before your party, finish any projects and home repairs that your guests will see and can appreciate. Those projects they will never see or know anything about can wait until clean up afterwards. This includes deep cleaning maintenance items like washing walls, dusting lights and fan blades, cleaning window dressings, etc. This is also the time to have ServiceMaster of Gwinnett come out to clean furniture and flooring.
